Discussion Violet Evergarden

Episode 1 was good. Damn, KyoAni makes a really beautiful anime. Pretty sad that she was raised as just a tool and doesn't understand basic human concepts. Also, the Colonel lied to her about the Commander being alive. Really sad, but there were also some really wholesome moments. Gonna be a sappy one though, seeing as she's trying to figure out what "I love you" means, when he's already dead.

 

Episode 2 was good. Seems like Violet might have been a slave, or just I guess a war orphan, pretty sad. Her stiff mannerisms make her even cuter, but it's sad. Man, that letter she wrote gave me a laugh. Of course, the major is dead. He should really say but it would probably break her. He's a good guy buying that brioche back.

 

Episode 3 was good. Pretty wholesome. Feel bad for Luculia that her parents died and brother became an alcoholic, but at least they reconciled now, thanks to Violet. Somehow. Lol at Benedict and Cattleya arguing.

 

Episode 4 was good. Man, it's funny how direct Violet is. So the major was the one that named her? She did good with the other letter! Lol at her charging Iris.

 

Episode 5 was good. Nice that Violet was able to help the prince and princess establish their love. It was nice to see her smile too.

 

Episode 6 was another wholesome episode. I enjoyed Violet's interactions with Leon. Nice to see her smile again. Man, gonna be rough when she learns the truth.

 

Holy shit. Episode 7 was a beautiful episode. Feel so bad for Oscar loosing his wife then daughter, but was really beautiful how Violet fulfilled his daughter's dream. Powerful stuff. I can't imagine how Violet is feeling now, only just understanding emotions and finds out that Gilbert is dead.

 

Episode 8 was good. So onto flashbacks now. Gilbert was good to Violet, for sure. Basically done with the war when it went bad.

 

Episode 9 was good. So she's now accepted and overcome Gilbert's death and her past.

 

Jesus christ. Episode 10 was so good, so touching. Man, I teared up a little at how heartbreaking it all was. ******* hell.

 

Episode 11 was good. Another sad one. Show does very well at showing the horrors of war. It was kind of Violet to go to the battlefield to write, then personally deliver Aiden's message. Shame he died. Man, she took out those guys like nothing.

 

Episode 12 was good. Man, Violet sure kicks ass. I see that her combat suffers trying to not be lethal. Lucky that Dietfried saved her. Then she him.

 

Episode 13 was good. It was nice that she met the mother of Dietfried and Gilbert. It helped her closure a lot, same with Dietfried reconciling with her. It was a very heartfelt story, it's just so sad that it was her journey understanding what "I love you" meant to someone who is gone. 10/10.

 

The OVA was ok. It was nice that Violet was able to help Irma and her late partner's father get closure with the lyrics she wrote.
