Lotta hype circulating around for it rn, and I wanna know if its a good read. And, if I do start, should I watch the anime to completion and read the manga the rest of the way? Or just pick up the manga from scratch and watch the anime as a bonus?

Pick up the anime and continue on to the manga from there.

Both are really good adaptions, and the concept and tones coming from it just really hooked me as it might for you as well.

The anime's about to end in like a week, so I suggest just catching up now tbh.

This right here, I would actually say that the anime is better since its a perfect adaptation combined with great animation from studio bones, a really good soundtrack, and filler that actually is good for the story. So yeah, pick up the manga after the anime.
