"I haven't read through the magic explanation (I might do that later) but he uses a type of magic (I think he called it astrology) that lets him cast unreadable spells almost instantly and that's how he manages to surprise mitsugu in vol 13. he tries to use a similar spell to run away from tatsuya and masaki but tatsuya is able to predict his direction and almost chop him in half while the second time he uses it (trying to break through masaki's side) masaki take out his legs before he can finish casting the spell, in virtue of his naturally high evocation speed."




"Please take that with a grain of salt as it was all from memory and from a quick read. I'm reading now through his fight against minoru and he used a talisman/badge to instantly summon a black unicorn. the summoned beast was so fast that minoru didn't even have the time to react but he was saved by the fact that the was using parade all along therefore the beast only rushed through an illusion."

The narrator at this point says " 'his eyes that were able to see eidos' hadn't lost sight of Zhou" (I suppose the line refers to tatsuya and that he is somehow in contact with all the people involved in the plan).




Zhou is now running through the water channel at the speed of 50 kn/h thanks to some kinda chinese magic hover he suddenly stopped when a girl suddenly materialize in midair a few meters in front of him. (Zhou is shocked because he didn't expect such a perfect from of pseudo teleport and the girl (it's fumiya of course) strike him with phantom blow; the magic attack is aimed at zhou's leg; Zhou takes out some needles and applies them to the tsubos on his legs to sever the nerve of his legs in order to not faint from the pain (but by doing so he cannot feel his legs anymore). as an extreme measure he takes out another badge to cast a magic which cover fumiya's field of vision (he also takes out a white hankerchief and unfold it like he did previously with black one). The next person he runs into right after using that magic is masaki.

a little revision:

zhou first takes out a white handkerchief, unfolds it over himself. while he is cloaked by the piece of cloth, he insert needles to sever the sensation on his legs and pulls out the last badge (all of his badges appear to contain precast summon). I assume his intention was to kill fumiya with his last summon but when the white piece of cloth fell down he found masaki in front of himself.

Zhou tried to run away by jumping in the river he had been previously running alongside but masaki prevented him from doing that by causing a big water explosion right where zhou wanted to jump in. tatsuya also makes his entry and tells zhou not to be an idiot as jumping in water when facing ichijou is like committing suicide. encircled by tatsuya and masaki, zhou makes use of his "wicked astrology" magic to instantly rush and pass through tatsuya's block (I am sure there is a much better name for his magic. I only went for a literal translation). tatsuya reacted and drew down his hand in a shape of a karate chop; zhou knew that tatsuya had a strange magic that allow to cut even through steel with his bare hand, therefore he stopped his rush. out of nowhere Zhou wondred why his wicked astrology magic is not popular nowadays, tatsuya replied that, unlike what he had heard about the supposed inefficiency of astrology at point blank range, zhou's magic was very effective and he hadn't actually realized that zhou was going to rush at him; Zhou then wonder if it was a fluke but tatsuya replies that he was able to trace his movement from the traces of nakura's blood in his body.




Zhou is dumbfounded and says that 2 weeks have passed since then and no trace of blood should be left to be traced, tatsuya then says some 2deep4me shit which implies he can sense those traces even if the blood is not physically traceable anymore.

zhou didn't understand what tatsuya was saying and decided to try his luck in the opposite direction. He leaped towards masaki using the same fast-running magic he had used when escaping from minoru (it's a magic than can be used as long as you have legs, even if you can't properly feel them. apparently it is not a wicked astrology magic ). Masaki didn't hesitate and immediately used explosion on his legs to stop his escape. then, knowing he was cornered and had no way out, Zhou burnt himself after causing a small explosion."




was Ayako with Fumiya too?

ayako was the one that teleported fumiya next to zhou




I know it's not meant to be comedic, but I'm imagining Tatsuya explaining his abilities to Zhou like it's the weather forecast and it makes me chuckle a little. Zhou obviously wasn't that interested and wanted to get away.

it's a not even an infodump and Zhou is interested in chatting with Tats, despite his hurry to get away (but maybe he just thought, **** I have no way out, might as well ask). the dialogue is something like this:




Z: I don't understand, was it just a fluke?

T: I couldn't tell your position. but I could track the motion of the nakura's blood inside you

dumbfounded Zhou

Z: nakura's blood... from that time" (alluding to his fight with nakura)

T: did he shot you with some kinda blood needles? after 2 weeks any foreign substance should have disappeared though. It looks like they were extremely soaked with his will (or desires, intentions)

Z: will, you said? I thought it was not considered as a factor in modern magic theory

T: no matter what theories you consider, what exist exists and what doesn't exist doesn't exist

Z: actually there are also things that exist but don't exist and vice versa (maybe he's referring to some necromancer bullshit)

T: (pointing his cad to Zho) the lecture can continue inside n prison. you might not be given a lot of time though (before being executed, I assume)

Z: so I'm going to be killed either way?

T: that's not for me to decide

Z: then it's useless to plead for my life here?

T: as long as you have nakura's body inside your body, you won't be able to get away from me.




Curious exchange, so when Zhou expelled his own body with blood and fire, did he also do this to throw Onii-sama off his trail in more "complete" manner as precaution?

Even if it causes him to be out of the game for a while and maybe not even return as "full" human in the end.

Some of Zhou's lines imply the possibility of re-existing but maybe as a different form.




Did Zhou absorb or eat Nakura? It did seem shady how Mayumi didn't know much about his remains.

tatsuya assumed that Zhou had been shot by Nakura with needles made of his own blood
