Well at least the Riyo servant is pretty good gameplay wise for a 1*, not like I'll use her though. Overall, I thought it was a pretty lame reveal.

 

Thing is, for me, if this is what we had for April Fools instead of an app that didn't work for a lot of people and died after 1 day (which amounted to actually a fair bit of effort for basically nothing) I'd have been totally great with it. In fact, this is the kind of thing I think they should be doing every other week (whenever events aren't running, really) - releasing a 1* servant over a series of short, easy quests in a week-long period, before that servant gets added to the FP gacha. That will at least ensure the game is actually getting content every week, and workload-wise they should be more than capable of a servant per week (even if they have to cycle through servants in time) given how much money they make from the game. I know Nasu came out with his bullshit "oh, Grand Order is a game that has an event once per month (not even that much, actually), where others have one once per week because we want players to play it relaxed and to consider content as treats", but formally it's in its third year now. It's not a new game where DW are breaking their teeth on it. At least this much should not be hard. It doesn't need a story attached, just a weekly little thing to do.

So I can't complain about the event itself. I think Riyo is somewhat overrated, but I had a good laugh at some of his earlier stuff at least, and as you say the unit is actually quite good for what it is.

My problem lies in it being released as an Anniversary reward - a time where games are supposed to give back to the players somewhat to thank them for sticking with them and, yes, paying into the game. With the Mashu costume released with the Rerun, it made a lot of sense that the reason they'd been slow is they were planning a big push with that feature. It would have been silly to expect any freebie, as they don't do that with a single exception (the Gil event), and they wouldn't have given the quartz, but at least something that benefits the players. And... nothing. It is, at the end of the day, a 1* welfare servant. If they wanted to run an event for the Anniversary like this, it should have been running from the start. I just don't see why we had to wait till the second for this. The skeptic in me says it's so they can go longer without providing content, which for an event made to "reward" players, is pretty damn lazy given 2017 as a whole.

The sad part is I expected it. Not this exactly of course, but I expected it to be something like this, though honestly, I think I'd rather have the Summer event released. I remember people complaining last year about them hiding a gameplay mechanic they were going to add regardless as a late reveal, but man does that seem good this year. The game will still do fine of course, but I do wonder how much more successful the game would be if content releases were up to par for the industry (and I dread to think how the NA exclusive players will react if it ever reaches that point).

What I actually thought was the worst part of the Anniversary are the mediocre login rewards we are getting. DW should be fully aware how very little 10 mil QP actually does, hell the QP awards for NA's Nero fest are better than that.

 

Agreed, don't think it's enough for even 5 ascensions if you're levelling up SR and above servants.

Decided to bite the bullet and roll my quartz for America gacha. I know I know, Summer, but I was only interested in Medb which imo isn't likely. Was hoping for either Cu Alter or NP2 Medb. Got Rama NP2, Helena NP2 and Nightingale, so I'm alright with it. Largely I'm just happy to have broken my drought, to be honest, and I know I probably would have rolled for Maid Alter anyway.

Aside from that, managed to finally get Billy the Kid to NP5, who has been pretty much the rarest servant for me to get 3* wise. Dunno why, just how it goes I guess. Also got the 4* and 3* Anniversary CE's LB'd, and a copy of the 5* one.

Now I just pray and hope for no Summer Medb, though worst case scenario I just save up from here till the rerun next year lol. I'm thinking Ere is probably going to be released same time Ishtar was if she's going to be released at all so I have a few months to save in that case from here.

 

Nightingale is a good pick up, she has some pretty good dialogue to. Yeah I gave the American gacha try as well for Cu Alter, got Rama and another Kaleidoscope CE. I only did a couple of 10 Roll and a dozen tickets, because I didn't want to use up to many resources, since like you said, the Summer 2017 event is right around the corner and I've got to keep my Ereshkigal fund intact till she gets released.

 

She's my second SSR Berserker after Vlad, and objectively 1 5* and 2 4*s is pretty good in 65 rolls (especially considering how bad my run of luck has been) so yeah, I'm happy. I suppose I'll have to farm EXP after I'm done with QP farming.

Is it just me, or are dupe cards more likely with the gacha than new ones? Lately I've been getting more 4* dupes than I have new 4*s, and I always seem to get the same 3*s. If that's the case, it's pretty interesting to know in terms of how it works. There was some guy streaming his rolls when I was rolling and I got similar results to him in terms of the 4*s (which especially bummed me out as I was half a second out from getting Cu Alter, though I rolled Nightingale immediately after so lol) so I'm pretty sure it works on a time-based system, at the very least.

I have like 3 free quests left to do, so I'll probably get the last few quartz from there, and then just save it up. Hopefully Summer gives quartz too, knowing my luck part 2 will have shit I want.

 

Haven't really noticed an up in dupes, maybe because I haven't rolled very often in the past 4 months.

I also hope we get a grail or two from the Summer Event, I need a couple of more grails to max ascend Gil.

On another note, quite a few people are a bit salty about the strengthening quests so far.

 

It's only something I've been noticing lately, as I've rolled more and more NP2 4*s. Last year I didn't have NP2 with any 4* at all until I rolled 2 Seiba Alters and 2 EMIYA's (in the same 10 roll), and this year I've rolled Carmilla, Astolfo, Rama, Helena and probably a couple more dupes. It happens with CE's too though.

Yeah, I've still got a few left over but when I get to it I'll need another 4 for Ishtar, one for Seiba Alter and one of PenPen. At least one grail would be nice.

Yeah, I noticed a few complaints on them too. Not complaints I share really, they've been pretty meh for me because most of them target servants I don't have, and amongst the few I do I haven't leveled them nor do I intend to use them much, but they've all targeted fairly mediocre servants so I don't see the big deal there. Only issue I suppose is the boosts being pretty poor, but that's nothing new for DW.

 

This anniversary was absolutely G A R B A G E. What the heck! Where are the damn costumes? Where are the good stuff for the players besides the RNG 110 quartz... F hell. Goddamn GBF did a 10 roll for free for a full week! Sometimes I ask myself why am I even playing this game lol

The good thing is that my budget is increasing for new years.

 

Good thing is QP 1/2 ap is still on.
