Been thinking, how would, with tech equalized and no prep, a naval battle between Admiral Preston Cole and Grand Admiral Thrawn go? They're both the unbeatable geniuses who revolutionized their verses' war, and against superior forces always managed to pull through, even if some of them were a little plot powery, like supernova'd gas giants and turning thousands of vulture droids to your side. @upsurge

Why? Just why?

That would be an interesting battle. Cole has a better record of coming out on top when horrendously outnumbered/outgunned and with less time to work and study the enemy commanders. But then again, Thrawn is said to have done some crazy shit when he was still part of the Chiss Defence Fleet. Both Cole and Thrawn have an excellent record of working with their crew in such a manner that they are capable of adapting on the fly as a whole and using the surroundings to their advantage. I'm honestly leaning more towards Cole. I've forgotten a lot of the Legends strategic/tactical feats for Thrawn mind you. His Disney canon self is more fresh in my mind (especially because of how fantastic the canon Thrawn novel was).
