It's really the only dreadnought I myself like. Like Thrawn, I'd prefer a flexible fleet of smaller warships. That being said, if I had to have dreadnoughts to kick some ass in a big Star Wars space battle, I'd take nothing other than the Bellator. Every other dreadnought just has too many glaring weaknesses.
I was re-reading the Blade Squadron short stories. I never realized how the X-wing and A-wing are versatile both by themselves and when paired with something else with a dedicated role.
Battle of Endor: A-wings + Y-wings = Your battle station is going to have a bad time.
Battle for Kuat Drive Yards: X-wings + B-wings = Your shipyards are going to have a bad time.
To me the perfect fleet is a mix of Venators, ISDIIs, Victories, and assorted support like Lancers etc. The Bellator could fit in happily as a bulwark ship to distract dumb captains willing to hit it. Mostly Rebel starsfighters but replace Y-Wings with Arc-170s for the added survivability and fighting power.
