I looked at 1070, but 1070ti was on sale for barely much more, and again, the 1080 for barely much more than that - the 1080ti being at least 300+ more than the 1080, given that 11xx series may or may not even be out this year, and I'd be waiting for the ti variants, I might be stuck for like 2 years with a gimped 1060. I should be able to pull 4k with the 1080 and being 2/3 or less of 1080ti price, it made sense.
