It's meant to be hard and you can mitigate most damage with health regen skills and that. Tempered is almost like G-rank for high rank, arch tempered is like G-rank+.

But theres a different between something being hard and something being bullshit.

It's the same as Teostra/Lunastra fire aura. All elders but Nerg have auras of their stuff. They introduced a mechanic called elder seal which removes said aura.
