In here we talk about the new Reborn client and how it compares to the old Source 1 client. Personally I think Reborn is better than old client in almost every single way. - Performance: Reborn runs much faster on my laptop compared to the old one, load time is reduced by half and I get higher frame rate in my games. - Interface: The new UI looks a lot sleeker and more 'modern' which I love. The hero tab lets you preview the hero and their sets up close. Only complaint about this is the chat which got moved to the bottom left of the screen and isn't noticeable enough. - Custom Games: This is a big one for a lot of people, with the new workshop tools you can create new game modes or just simply join existing ones. - New Profile Page: You can see people's stats and comment on their profiles now. - Source 2 goodness: Game now looks better and more detailed. Things like windrun and Qop blink you can clearly see the difference in details, and on arcanas like SF and TB the particles look insane. Now for the 3 people who actually play Dota here, discuss.
Framerate gets cut in half whenever i alt-tab out and back in for like 20 seconds. Other than that the game looks better, now they just need to redo the in game HUD.
Yeah I noticed problem with alt-tabbing as well, but mine gets a black screen for like 5-6 seconds before it actually display the game.
The game is like a blackhole bro. It will suck you in and you will never be able to leave it. Reborn was fine. Especially since they removed those irritating ads.
Lol, hmmmmmm, I'd have to get used to it before that happens, though, right? Unfortunately i don't have much time to game these days. ;-;
College student ? >< Even I don't have the time to play these days. With the release of the new compendium I really want to!!! The community is so amazing that the compendium just released last night and the prize pool is already $ 3 mil.
College indeed, just sucks how much work they have us do, and exams always a shet. That said, lml, nice. Can anyone join these comps?
Well it works like this : The money you spend on buying the compendium, 25% of that goes to the international prize pool. The international is a dota 2 tournament the biggest one held annually. It started in 2011 with a $1 mil prize and last year i.e for Ti5 it crossed $18 mil with $1.6 mil as base and $16 mil contributed my the community. The team which wins takes a hell lot of money home !
