    **** lol

My dude, I'm literally using 165hz. Saying this much about just using the pc is a little much kek. There's obviously a big different in shit like fps, or if you're playing a game, but if you're browsing the internet or watchign a youtube video, you're literally not even looking at the curser of your mouse.

    Fair. lol

60 fps is still fine though, and largely still better than consoles. An SSD is such a night and day difference for a boot drive I'd say it's the no brainer upgrade compared to the price difference in good quality monitors.

Idk I'd never buy a 60hz laptop if I know 144hz ones exist, it's the same reason I dumped 60hz monitor on desktop...because 144 is better, why would I go back if I don't need to.

But that's just me I guess.

This is very common in India. Just one day ago, I sat for three hours for an interview. All that they did was an intro and there was no interview. In another school, I had to wait for five hours before the interview took place.

    Oof...

Than that Lenovo with the Ryzen 7 and RTX 3050 looks to be the best choice. Alternative is to consider Acer Nitro 5 or Nitro 7 with Ryzen 5 5600H or Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3050 or even RTX 3060. They're actually good values for money. You will have to sacrifice card reader though, as they don't come with that.

Also... What about Amazon? I know. I know. Amazon Evil! But have you considered it?

Good. Then you can consider it, but see if you can get it with Ryzen 7 5700U/5800U.

It's ******* stupid. They could have kept 60 Hz or even 120 Hz LED display, put in a better CPU or GPU or more storage or more RAM and charged the same price.

When I went with the wife to the sub-registrar office to get my marriage registered, the officer took a couple of extra looks at me (I was cleanly shaved at the time, and looked like 16-18, plus I'm skinny) to make sure I was old enough to marry. He said he couldn't believe that I was 30.

    True story.

Higher Hz count makes sense only in a high end gaming rig. It doesn't make sense in a middle class laptop that can't run any game out now in half the fps the display is capable of rendering. A laptop with a 60 Hz display makes sense as it generates less heat and consumes less battery power. 1920x1080 displays in laptops relatively recently became mainstream thanks to improvements in iGPUs and power efficiency of the laptop as a whole; but 120 or higher Hz displays have a ways to go for becoming mainstream, as the rest of the laptop hardware needs to play catch-up.

As someone who grew up with 30 Hz CRT monitors: In everyday usage, 60 Hz is smooth enough for me.

For now any mid-range "gaming" laptop offering 120 Hz or higher is just a gimmick. Why bother if the hardware can't keep up in modern gaming?

I don't deny that 144 Hz is indeed "refreshing" (pun intended) compared to 60 Hz. The problem is that the rest of the laptop hardware these days can't keep up. You're paying extra, using extra battery power, generating more heat, not using those Hz in modern games, etc. It's better to put in a lower refresh rate display and charges less or charge the same and provide stronger components elsewhere.

    Case in point:
Acer Aspire 7 of mine vs Asus Vivobook Gaming of Laraib
Both of these cost the same.
I have a Ryzen 5 5500U (which can keep up with the i7-9850H), GTX 1650M GDDR6, 16 GB RAM in dual channel, 60 Hz display, better cooling system, no card reader.
Laraib has an i5-9300H, GTX 1650M GDDR5, 8 GB RAM in single channel, 120 Hz LED display, card reader.

Clearly I got the better deal (minus the card reader).

I understand how you feel. Only reason I chose a laptop was because of work necessity.

    Lubed cursors :lewd

I grew up with 30 Hz CRT monitors. 60 Hz monitor felt so smooth to me when I first got on one.

    xD

    Me too xD

    ^ This @JoeJoe

Yeah, the price jump makes 120 Hz and 144 Hz monitors not worth it right now. You have no excuse for avoiding SSDs these days though, considering how cheap and readily available they are these days.

    Goodnight, lubricated cursor +.+

You have to keep in mind that for us in developing nations, even mid range laptops are expensive. So we have to consider everything carefully.

My best friend had to wait for three hours for a job interview with Myntra. The job was for a regional sales manages and pay was INR 3.6 lakh per year with stupid hours and it was 30 km from his house. And he had health issues. His dad and I both told him to **** off from there and come home.

  13. I really like the legion as its a badass device but I am worried about ending up with a defective unit that I will spend too much on trying to repair/replace. tell me if Im being paranoid cuz Ive seen hundreds of reviews talking about this stuff.

Nah, the tax to import it in BiH would rape me :lolno

A mid range laptop here with an i5 or Ryzen 5, GTX 1650M (which is the bare minimum for getting into gaming these days), 8-16 GB RAM, and 512 GB storage costs two to four times the average monthly salary of a police constable (which is a good reference range for Bangalore) and up to 1.5 times the average monthly income of a software engineer who just joined the workforce with a company like Oracle.

Don't bother with job offers from Myntra/Flipkart. Same goes for Reliance, who don't give leave when their employees have cancer or are bleeding out from the anus in the office. You're better off with a Wipro or Tata owned business; even if the pay is not to your liking, they'll at least treat you with dignity and grant leave.

    Really?

I know people with Legions. No problems so far other than complaints of bloatware that you have to spend time removing. There is also some heating issue.

I would also advise removing the anti-virus that comes with the device and installing your own.

    Like I said earlier though:
Consider the Asus line with Ryzen or Acer Nitro series. The Acer Nitro series are currently your best bet if you're going for a lower mid range gaming laptop, and they look somewhat badass on top of all that (especially if you can find a black and grey coloured one). They're actually a better deal than their Asus counterparts in the same price range; only disadvantage is lack of card reader, but you can easily rectify that with a cheap USB card reader.

    OOF in all caps...
