I remember Kubo specifically explaining that he doesn't even get a break for going to comic conventions to ******* promote the manga for wsj and is expected to do all the stuff in advance to not miss the deadlines

Explains all the trolling he did in bleach, dude was pissed off lol

 

Probably could've done better if they had a reasonable deadline

This schedule would be enough to just barely make ends meet for any normal creator

 

Iirc Kishi said something like it takes him 2 hours on average to finish a page (and mind you this was with assistants and towards the end of Naruto when he was already accustomed to drawing these characters fast)

 

It's not just that since audience is mostly young for shonen manga and Japanese culture is very very different from West,Africa, Middle East or South Asia there seems to be negative feedback to anything audience cannot understand

 

Yes probably or maybe some are not just upto the mark. I mean many manga get canceled before reaching vol 6 or 7 and many mangaka succeed only after 2nd or 3rd try

 

Idk maybe, you could also run back the argument that japanese put a lot more complicated and dark shit that wouldn't be deemed appropriate for a comic aimed at twelve year olds in the west.

I remember being shocked in 6th grade when I first got into anime because the type of content wasn't available anywhere else.
