Dragon Ball Super - Episode 114 Discussion

there's some yuri shit going over there with kale that much i can tell you. The anime looked really dope in some scenes. Kind of wished freeza fodderized these 2 smug Saiyans ganging up on tired Goku. The poor old man, now he has to deal with a fusion 10 times stronger than Legendary Super saiyan kale. 10 times feels like too much especially that Caulifla was a measly SSJ2. It also feels kind of inconsistent with What we've seen with Vegito? I feel like Vegeta is up to something and that feeling only intensifies by each episode we get. Overall a decent episode. Can't wait for the next one.

 

It just feels so annoying that it looks like super saiyan blue will be defeated next episode. This feels so cheap, the once great super saiyan god blue trashed on like that. Goku trained the shit out of it from the start of super especially in goku black arc. I can't convey to you in words how stupid this feels. It's so aggravating in a sense, that SSJ2 Caulfila's fusion can stump Goku's old trump card.

 

I've enjoyed this segment up to the point where Cauli went SSJ2 and the animation of the brawls were great. This potara fusion is one of the biggest asspulls I've ever seen. Power scaling has been messed up since Namek but this is a whole new level of inconsistency.

1. Berserk Kale shouldn't have been able to face tank a kamehameha from SSG Blue Goku to begin with a number of episodes back. It's irrelevant that it's the legendary form (which is basically brolly).
2. These girls barely knew about going Super Sayian before the tournament. Then you have Goku and Vegeta who have gone through tremendous battles and have a wealth of experience yet now Goku is getting matched by some rank amateurs? The brawl from the previous episode was good if we can consider Goku just training them while trying to recover and push his limits and that's where it should have stopped.
3. SSG Red had been retconned in Super, as far as being 60% of Beerus' power. While this stands, SSG Blue x Kaio 10 was hinted at by Beerus himself being a level that he'd need to put some effort in, and x20 more so. Not to say that it still is even close to being on equal ground as Beerus but it would give him a fight that he'd like.
4. Given all that, SSG Red, even with a depleted Goku, should be able to finger flick away Cauli off stage. With the hint of SSG Blue being defeated next episode by a fusion of a SSJ2 and LSSJ... just what the hell? It makes absolutely no sense. Yes, Potara fusion is an exponential multiplier... so are the SSG forms. It should have concluded with "nice fight, work on your endgame" and then firmly blasted off the stage.

Yes, great animation, great sequences, etc. The episode without context is good but for a fan that's been on this journey since the Dragonball days, this magic wand of asspull and infinite immediate power ups Kale and Cauli gets cheapens Dragonball and Dragonball Z and all the years of effort and setbacks we saw Goku and Vegeta go through. Contextually, this episode is an absolute disaster and whoever has been in charge of this Cauli and Kale segment needs to get axed, with his head on a guillotine preferably. Episode gets a 2 from me and that's only because of the animation.

Pretty good episode, Freiza was pretty funny and the fight was nice when they didn't reuse animations. Kefla looks like a beast, so maybe we'll get a Goku and Vegeta fusion later as well to fight Jiren. Hopefully after next week we get a break from Goku fighting tho, I want to see the other fighters tbh.
