I genuinely wanna hear why are you surprised by that

 

People on the left have done literal three hours long documentary videos on how emotionally isolated and jaded Americans and Europeans are due to a combination of various factors. It actually makes sense in the context of late stage capitalism and prevailing social factors.

USA and Europe are number one in the world respectively for narcotics consumption and alcohol abuse respectively due to them being whipped nearly to death by work and a consumer culture where they can't even muster the time to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
