stupid question but do you reckon R7 will run cooler than R9? and will 3060 run colder than 3070?

 

Ryzen 5/7 both run way cooler than Ryzen 9, especially if we're talking about laptops.

Ryzen 7 5800H, right? That beast is more than future-proof. So, don't worry. Ryzen 5 5600H and even my Ryzen 5 5500U trade blows with the i7-9850H and i7-10750H, making them quite future-proof for everyday use and even some gaming. Even the Ryzen 5 5600H meets the recommended CPU requirements for most or all games out right now (for 1080p). The Ryzen 7 5800H trades blows with the i9-11900H. It's a monster. It actually would meet the recommended CPU requirement for 4K gaming for all games out on the market right now. And don't worry about temperatures: it runs cooler than the best i7 CPUs out right now, while also drawing up to 25% less power.

Ryzen 9s get hot though (both laptop and desktop). That I can't deny.

As for the RTX 3060: From my personal experience, it draws much less power (15-25 Watts less, on average 20 Watts) and runs cooler than the RTX 3070. That is a given. However, at the end of the day, it all depends on what TGP the laptop manufacturer has set the GPU at. From what I know, Acer sets the RTX 3060 and 3070 at a higher TGP than Asus; which means the Acer GPUs will give a bit more performance, at the cost of increased power consumption and more heat generation (though the latter also depends on the laptop's cooling system). However, Asus doesn't exactly neuter their GPUs in the manner that Lenovo and some other laptops manufacturers do. They're still very good, and configured to a relatively high TGP, so you don't have to worry about performance.

Ryzen 7 6800HS is 12-19% (about 15% on average) more powerful than Ryzen 7 5800H

It should also have the fastest and most powerful iGPU right now. It's supposedly about 80% as fast as a dedicated Nvidia MX450.

Good? Ryzen 7 5800H is a price-to-performance-ratio monster that trades blows with 11th gen i9 (not i7, but i9) CPUs and the Ryzen 7 6800HS is 15% better

It's not good, son. It's damn impressive for the price bracket. It could be paired with an RTX 3080 Ti with no bottleneck.

Don't get me wrong: Intel has more powerful i9 offerings and also i7 offerings in the 12th gen. But they're expensive and AMD shits on them in terms of performance relative to price and relative to Wattage.
