  1. The latter two more powerful models are not much more expensive than the first ones which seems weird since they completely curb stomp them in performance but it makes sense when you consider their superior build quality compared to the all plastic and far more problem riddled builds of legion and vivobook.

Basically if I dont need them for development I wont take them. But I don't know how good these first two will work until I actually buy them. I'm expecting them to be fine in most cases but when I get into potentially harder scenes to render they wont cut it.

In general I don't have faith in any device that boasts premium-level specs but isn't full blown premium because they too often cut corners on all the wrong places.

I don't get the point in them doing this outside of being a ****. Just save everyone time and say no. ._.

I have been using a Lenovo Ideapad B490 (mid-range model) since 2013 and it's still kicking. Say what you want about Lenovo, but their mid range offerings do actually have decent build quality and battery life.

That being said... I would strongly advise against this particular Lenovo. There is no MX430, so I assume you mean MX450. This dedicated GPU is not bad, but also not a good deal. It's essentially a GTX1650M GDDR5 Max-Q cut in half and further power optimized. It offers only 30-40% superior performance to the MX350 and 50% superior to the Vega 7 iGPU on the Ryzen 5 5600U in that HP. It also seems to have a heating issue, with the power brick also getting quite hot.

You can get metal build laptops with GTX 1650M GDDR6 or even RTX 3050 for the same price as that Lenovo.

    As for that HP:
It is overall a solid model, with good performance and also sound. My only real complaints with it are the keypad (which offers good typing experience, but not build quality) and the slow as **** charging (though the battery life is quite decent). Minor nitpicks are whether the 16 GB RAM is in single channel (x1 16 GB stick) or dual (x2 8 GB sticks) and if the storage expansion slot allows for a second NVMe SSD or 2.5 inch SATA SSD (I'm guessing it's most likely the latter).

That HP is good, but I would advise seeking one out with a Ryzen 7 5700U or Ryzen 7 5800U. The Ryzen 5 5600U already trades blows with the i7-9850H and i7-10750H, but the Ryzen 7 5700U/5800U are 33% better still (thanks to two extra physical cores) and come with Vega 8 iGPU (which is 20-25% more powerful than the Vega 7 on the Ryzen 5 5000 series and comparable to a dedicated Nvidia MX350).

I must warn you though: iGPUs benefit more from dual channel RAM. If that HP has only one RAM module, fill that second RAM slot.

Both of those are nice models. I lean more towards the Asus due to me liking that brand more than Lenovo (and the Asus also has the much better display) but I must admit that the Lenovo here between these two offers slightly better build quality, better keypad (for both typing and gaming), bit better speakers, and an immensely more powerful CPU (Ryzen 7 5800H shits on most or all i7 laptops CPUs on the market right now, so that i5 is no comparison). See if you can find that Asus laptop with a Ryzen 5 5600H or Ryzen 7 5800H. Even Ryzen 5 5600H is a fantastic CPU and more than enough for you (it's comparable to the i7-11600H).

    Oof... Yeah... Cunts...

It's like 144hz 4k screens when you can barely get 60 fps with current games. xD

You can get 144 fps with current games . . . four years from now on Ryzen 7 9000 series, i7 15th gen, RTX 7000 series, RX 10000 series.

  9. Yea MX450, typo. Idk Im thinking about it just to reduce the load on the apu when rendering more intense scenes in unity.

Unfortunately I cant pick and choose which cpu or gpu ends up in any of these. My choice is limited since most shops have shit offers amd the ones that have anything good don't offer too much room for choosing specs. I guess I could try olx (bih ebay basically) but I have a pretty good sale here in my local so...

The HP is dual channel 2x8

  10. The high refresh rate really doesnt even mean anything if there was a purpose. They made a new model of legion with 160hz and it did worse than 144hz

Looks like a gimmick to mee

I'd disagree here, I have a 144hz monitor and the difference between 60 and 144 is so huge that I personally can't go back to 60 again.

Also apparently 144 is better for the eyes compared to 60.

ALSO 60 is mega slow when you get used to 144!

It doesn't even need to do anything with games, the fluidity of the screen in 144hz is muuuuuch better!

Higher hz does mean a thing!! Have you not use the 144hz monitor at least? It's a huuuge difference, saying it doesn't have a meaning is just wrong!

I think you misunderstand me. I'm not saying 144 is bad, I'm saying it's bad in the form of a laptop.

  15. As a programmer let me tell you, all screens are bad for your eyes. There's a reason most of us end up with glasses
