I don't know for some reason many of the conan episodes I remember are fillers that I never watched when I binged entire DC

Probably remember them from memory when I watched it as a kid xD

    LMAO XD

This is how I treat my sister in law - like a child. She's 23 but looks and acts 13 (she is also freaking tiny) so that's on her.

So what you're saying is: You can be described as boyishly cute rather than classically handsome?

Understandable. Then get one with a Ryzen 7, as iGPU performance scales directly to CPU performance. Something like Ryzen 7 5700U will offer you outstanding performance per price and per Watt, while also being a good bit future-proof. A hexacore i5-H series or i7-H series could also be good, but at the cost of heat and increased power consumption. Don't even bother with the i5/i7 U & G series for now.

    I see.

If you're willing to settle for 14 inch, then you can consider Acer Swift X (it's available with Ryzen 5 5600U and Ryzen 7 5800U; with iGPU only and RTX 3050 Ti dedicated GPU).

If you absolutely want 15.6 inch for the slightly larger display and number pad, then there are some decent options out there from Asus.

The new Asus Expertbook B series is quite good. They're rated at 80 to 85% on notebookcheck (any rating from them 75% or higher means the laptop is worth buying) and seem to offer good value for money. However, they're held back by the i5 and i7 options on-board (even my Ryzen 5 5500U shits on the i7-1165 G7), lack of Ryzen offerings, and lack of storage upgrade options. Vivobook 15 M series with Ryzen 7 5700U would also be a decent choice (they come with one RAM module soldered on, but you have one free RAM slot for upgrade and one free slot to put in another NVMe SSD). If you're willing to go higher, you get even better models. I would advise buying an Asus in black or blue only, as the silver ones have barely visible characters on the keys. Seriously... What dumb motherfucker thought it was a good idea to print white characters on silver coloured keys?

I'll see what else I can scrounge up in the 15.6 inch range from Acer. Their best work/productivity models in the upper middle class segment are either 14 inch (with both iGPUs and GPUs) or 15.6 inch with dedicated GPUs. There is the Aspire 5, which is 15.6 inch with iGPU and it even comes with rock solid metal build, but I would actually advise against it for now (the deal breaker is a poor quality charger whose connecting pin bends or breaks very easily, even if the laptop itself is worth considering).

At least you're cute and youthful looking. I had a classmate in highschool who looked old enough to be his best friend's (another classmate who had youthful looks) dad.

What are you aiming for anyway?

  15. I have 2 very light options in mind:

    1) Ideapad 5 pro 16 i5-11300H 16gb MX450 2gb
    2) Hp probook 455 g8 Ryzen 5 5600u 16gb

I like the ideapad more but I am suspicious of their build quality even with the pro version having aluminium parts. Lenovo is notorious for shit builds on all non-high end laptops and a shit customer service.

I am going to run some tests today and see if I might need a more powerful rig for game dev and if so my only other options are:

    3) Legion 5 144hz IPS Ryzen 7 5800H 16gb RTX3050
    4) Asus Vivobook pro 15 OLED i5-11300H 16gb RTX3050

Of these two I'd rather take legion but it too has too many cases of defective units where even after being out in the market for 2 years people still get dead pixels, loose trackpads, audio jack issues etc so it's not just the initial run being flawed. On the other hand the vivobook had many complaints of bad wifi and such.
