Going to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh next week. The week after that I'm going to Amritsar in Punjab from Dharamshala.

Taking the wife out on many firsts:
    1. Her first flight.
    2. Her first time in North India.
    3. Her first time seeing the Himalayas.

    Only problem:
Neither of us speak Hindi well xD

    Tourist guides are charlatans.
Haven't been to himachal but punjab does have a huge population of South Indian students mainly telgus in LPU so you should be okay with English and little bit hindi.

Also bargain never forget to bargain becoz they will try to rip you off if you aren't local. Also don't go out in night
