But on the other hand: monopolistic.

And MS games are no stranger to predatory microtransaction bullshit, even if the devs/publishers in the end listen to the fandom and do something to address such issues.

Well, MS owned game IPs have been increasingly customer friendly in the last few years. But, yeah, there could be more negatives here than positives. Will have to wait and see.

As a centre-left leaning motherfucker, I tend to be more suspicious than supportive of big-ass conglomerates.

Just because the titles are under the MS banner now doesn't mean they won't come to PS or even Nintendo platforms.

Phil Spencer said in one interview, after their acquisition of Bethesda, that they have contractual obligations and fandom obligations to also publish on platforms other than Xbox and Windows.

Given how gamer friendly MS is becoming in recent times, I have little reason to doubt his words. Well, at least for now. Let's wait and see.

But given how Sony is pushing more of their exclusive IPs to Windows, I feel MS would do the same in a tit-for-tat. As Phil Spencer said, they [i.e. the game companies that MS purchased] would have contractual obligations and such.

As I said though, we'd have to wait and see.

Seeing as how more and more game-makers are finding it more profitable to put out games on multiple platforms in order to maximize player base and sales figures (God of War, Halo, DOOM being prime examples) I could see these new MS owned titles till making it to PS and even Nintendo (those that were already being made for those platforms at least).
