    you gotta be ******* shitting me. I was doing $('.this is the select object').attr('data-nextpagenumber', nextpagenumbervariable); but it should've been $('.this is the select object').data('nextpagenumber', nextpagenumbervariable); because apparently using the attribute of it like href doesn't work despite it being an attribute of an element (<a href="" data-nextpagenumber="nextpagenumber">) so you use .data.

    Are you thinking of getting a new laptop? Asus and Acer have some great mid-rangers right now that offer very good specifications and build quality for the price. They are extra thick and look butt ugly, but they are built well and work well.

    My current laptop has the same issues - extra thick and butt ugly. But the build quality is damn good and it works well even after seven years. Hell, I still get four hours battery backup even today (it was six hours when I bought it back in early 2013).

    Good luck with that.
