As much as I like to blame Modi and Jaitley for India's economic problems today...

The automobile sector in India saw a decline due to a variety of factors, with the BJP's disastrous economic policies not being the chief among them. The automobile sector in India was on the decline already when the BJP first came to power at the centre, saw an up-tick here and there during festival seasons, and then began to decline again.

Chief among the factors for the sector's decline are: reluctance among today's youth and seniors to drive themselves, preferring instead to use public transportation; today's youngsters preferring to invest more wisely in other areas of their lives, instead of wasting funds they don't have on vehicles they don't need and can't park anywhere; much greater environmental awareness among today's youth and seniors, who await releases of vehicles that meet new emission norms or use alternate fuel sources.

The only two things that the BJP can claim responsibility for are: those idiots made it much more difficult to obtain vehicle insurance, especially for two-wheelers; made it much more difficult to obtain vehicle loans (which is not necessarily a bad thing, in my professional opinion, depending on the financial stability of the household seeking the loan).

Nah its from court orders. I have been in electric vehicle startup for a while right now govt want automotive companies to shift towards electric vehicle by 2030. We ll be seeing a decline for a year then itll grow.

Only mess up i think govt did was with good and service tax . It kind of destroy small scale business .

It did. So did the whole demonetization fiasco (which did absolutely nothing to dent corruption). Jaitley and Sitharaman's policies have only been beneficial to the already wealthy and large conglomerates (for whom Jaitley gave benefits on loans to the tune of Rs. 16,000 crore and Sitharaman gave a Rs. 160,000 crore tax cut). All they do is just talk about helping the middle class and SMEs, but their actual policies and the results of those policies tell a different story.

Indian military: We don't have money to pay for the healthcare of veterans.

MGNREGA: We don't have money to pay wages to lakhs of rural poor.

Sitharaman: Okay. I understand. I will make tax cuts to the tune of Rs. 200,000 crore.

Indian military and MGNREGA: Wait... What?

If radical changes are not made now we are doomed to be socialist govt.

People are thinking modi is destroying economy. He is make structural changes to make indian economy to compete with likes of UK, France , Germany and China.

Socialism and welfare based schemes can only last but right now world runs on free market enterprise.

I think only modi can do it. Rahul gandhi and others will drag india back to 80s.

To be fair their will be short term setback . The goal of this govt is long term transformation.

Congress no longer talk of development the party lives in era of Nehru and Gandhi. Bringing them is like finished we will never compete against china and US in future.
