But it is? I can name more great games in this era than any other era. What period are we talking about? What time period? Also I honestly have no idea what games are you talking about when you mention Pay2Win. Unless you mean mobile games?

Of all the online games which are popular I don't think any of it is P2W. Fortine isn't, Apex isn't, Overwatch isn't, LoL isn't as far as I know, CSGO I dunno about that one. Rocket League isn't.

Only game I know that is P2W is Battlefront Star Wars. I honestly haven't seen a P2W game in ages, or I just don't pay attention them

It's stupid to say it's sub par and then say no examples why it's sub par.

Yes... I would say so from a story-telling standpoint.

But the gaming industry's business practices definitely need to improve. And replay value problem is another thing.

DICE actually removed the P2W shit in Star Wars BF after a huge backlash by the fandom (and even by some governments). Star Wars BF right now is actually not bad on the multi-player front. Single player still sucks though.

If you actually compared games from the 1990s and 2000s to say ... games from 2011 onwards, you will find that the former have much greater replay value (usually).

There is a relatively smaller pool of games I can name off the top of my head - from 2011 onwards - with replay value comparable to games from the 1990s and 2000s.

 

So they are like the Telstra of gaming now? Telstra lied about its NBN speeds just to get a sale and later apologised but eh.
Also diablo 3 made in 2012 is still selling for full retail when it's like 8 years old now wtf. Blizzard is so lame.....

so the gaming industry to me will always be specific to my needs.
