Yes, that is what civilised societies do. Especially when the suspect is a minor.

A reminder that America is a modern civilised society, not some barbaric medieval Christian or Sharia country that gets kicks out of torturing people (CIA shenanigans aside). Also, I would like to once again point out that the suspect in this case is a minor, so the authorities have no choice but to make sure that he gets treatment, or they will face legal repercussions (though it should be noted that the kid is likely to be tried as an adult if he survives and is treated successfully).

Well... I can't argue with this. They may be among the world's more civilised societies, but they did elect as POTUS an internet troll who is sexually attracted to his own daughter.

I haven't been on one of my walks in six weeks because of the typhoid and I'm already feeling imprisoned and depressed. Imagine spending decades behind four walls, with abusive & corrupt guards watching you, CCTV cameras watching nearly every move of yours, having to eat shitty prison food, can't call or get visits from family regularly, you don't have your own TV or access to internet, being put to hard labour for shitty or even no pay.

I imagine you'd go mad in less than two weeks under such conditions.
